Not that I have a problem with synthetic, however, but you can leave the old fashioned stuff in - cheaper too! I'm using Castrol 10-30...that way it seems the filter is "free" (less cost than synthetic). The manual says it's just fine...just change it often enough to keep dirt and contaminants to a minumum.

1. Just changed out all my fluids today, on vacation, could have waited till the Cinci Tech Day and save over $100, but I just couldn't wait!
2. The oil only had 5600 miles on it this past year, really only 9 months, but since switching to Amsoil I intend to do it after the winter, which is in last week of March of 1st week of April for me, unless I wait until the Tech Day and do it in June once pre year.
3. I wonder with so little mileage of the 25k Amsoil oil whether I could just wait 2 yrs. to do it, but I'll probably get roasted for even suggesting it. I don't mind spending he money, but if it isn't needed, it isn't needed.
4. The tranny and diff went 2 yrs., but only 15k miles on the fluids: the mechanic said they were both clear and didn't need changed, so I will wait 3 yrs. next time, unless I somehow put more miles on it than I normally have: 8-10k miles per year normally, depending on whether I get to go on any small trips during the summer.
5. Hurrah! Amsoil! No, I'm not a dealer, so even a cheap-arse like me doesn't mind paying for the "best" synthetic, even though I don't need it with my driving habits, like I don't need the S for my driving habits.

Considering this thread was resurrected from 14 years ago, I am glad you did not wait longer to change your oil!!
