Default which oil is safe?

I know there has been much discussion on this, but I haven't read any definite aswers.

Question: is it safe to add 10W30 to the "breakin oil" the S2000 comes with?

I've done it, if that's any indication.

I don't believe there is anything explicit in the manual (service or owners) that says not to. I also, for the life of me, can't figure out why you wouldn't want to.

The break-in oil should be available through hparts.com or manhonda.com, or your dealer if you are very worried.

I wouldn't think you should have very much consumption during break-in. Mine didn't consume any, though I changed it at 1500 miles.

Yes. Any "mineral oil" (i.e. nonsyntetic) will suffice until 5,000 miles or more.
