Default Oil sending unit: analog or binary?

Does anyone know whether our OE oil sending unit provides an analog output (and lets the ECU determine whether to trigger the idiot light) or if it just makes/breaks at a specific pressure?

Thanks in advance

It's just an oil pressure switch.
When engine is off there continuity and at a set pressure with the engine on there so no more electrical continuity.
