Motor

I used mobile 1 for the first two oil changes and noticed I was going through a quart every 3500. So I switch to Castrol Syntec and now I do not see any loss for 5000 miles (due for oil change lol).

Tranny - Honda MTF
Dif - Mobile 1 75/20?

I'm surprised no one loves Pennzoil Ultra/Platinum...

Currently, I have Castrol GTX in engine, Honda MTF2 in tranny and Mobil1 in diff. I'm going to switch to Pennzoil Ultra/Platinum in the engine, Pennzoil Synchromesh in the tranny but leave the Mobil1 in the diff.

Change my fluids yesterday:

Engine: Amsoil Synthetic 10w30
Transmission: Honda MTF
Differential: Amsoil Oil Severe Gear 75w110

I'm switching from Redline 10w30 for the engine. Wanna see if this helps a little bit more on the burning.

Also switching my differential fluid from honda to Amsoil.

I'm something of a Pennzoil fan. I am using Pennzoil High Mileage Vehicle 10W-30 right now ... switching to Penz Platinum in the spring.

Engine: Pennzoil High Mileage Vehicle 10w-30
Transmission: Honda MTF II
Differential: Chevron 80W-90 ESI

I prefer motor oils with more moly and/or boron than Pennzoil currently has ... so I may switch to something like Chevron Supreme or Delo once my Pennzoil stash is gone.

I've ran Mobil1 in my previous AP1 and my current AP2. I noticed that it would burn a lot in my AP1, and just a tad bit in my AP2. Switched to Castrol Edge, after 5 years of Mobil1 use, and I'm very happy with it. Seems that there are absolutely zero signs of burning, and it has quieted down the engine some.

Engine: 10w30 Castrol Edge
Tranny: Honda MTF
Diff: LE1605

Here is what I run in my 03S:

Oil=Penn Plat 5-30
Oil Filter=Wix 51334
Trans=Honda MTF
Diff=Amsoil SG 75-90

You can do all 3 changes in about 1.25 hrs.

For guys wishing to stick with Mobil (not Mobile) 1 engine oils, you should seriously consider their EP or High Mileage formulas.

'Regular' Mobil 1 is a bit thin in each grade and its anti-wear add-pack is a bit weak ... leading to higher-than-usual consumption and failures of problem components.
