Is it ok to mix differential fluids?
Hey guys, I finally got around to chaning my diff. fluid last night, but I ran into a small problem. I couldn't find a good fluid pump/siphon to fill up the diff so I had to rig up a hose with an air compressor, which turned out to be a nightmare. In the process I lost some of the 1 qt. of 607 Almasol that I was filling up the differential with. The problem is that no local stores carry it and I could only find Mobile 1 75w-90, is it ok to mix the two and use both? I topped it off with the Mobile 1 and used about a 1/4 of a quart. Thanks

You should be "OK" temporarily. I would change it out at the next opportunity. The chemical properties of the two may not be compatable. Mobile 1 has a GL-5 rating while the LE doesn't really have a rating at all. PM Road Rage for a difinitive answer.

On this subject: I've got the contraption that Xviper has in his DIY tranny change. The tube that spins on the top of the quart bottle and you squeeze it up. It worked great with the tranny fill, got almost the entire quart in.
Is this going to work for the diff?
