Default Opinions please - Another engine noise to diagnose!

Hi All,

It's been a while since I posted on the forums so hi once again. I have owned my 2004 since 2007, it is coming up to 100k miles. The TCT was replaced in 2012 with Billman's TCT. In the last few weeks it's developed a very distinctive metallic ticking at idle when warm that goes away when any revs are applied. Can I ask those in the know to give it a listen and help me to diagnose if it's TCT or something else please?

Thanks

Tim

Hi,

I thought it was more recent (How time flies nowadays!) but actually on checking it was about the same time as the TCT as the valves is what I thought it was back then but after doing the valves it didn't help so replaced the TCT.

Sounds like a cracked exhaust manifold.
