OT: Clutch ringing
A friend has a new Integra.
While pulling the car out to teach her how to drive stick, I noticed a ringing sound under the hood. The best way I can describe it is a someone with a shaky hand holding a tamborine...a soft jingling.
After some investigation, the noise comes from the lower passenger-side of the engine. It's not RPM dependent, but it will go away if I disengage the clutch slightly (pedal lightly pressed in). After a few stomps on the pedal, it disappeared, and she says it hasn't returned since (this happened several weeks ago).
My WAG is the clutch pressure plates aren't tensioned properly, and therefore rattle against each other. Can anyone provide a reason so shedoesn't have to listen to the dealer tell her again "They just do that..."?

Could be the throw-out bearing, don't know if the integra is a push or pull type pressure plate, but if push type, not uncommon for throw-out bearing to rattle a little with no pressure on clutch pedal.
Just a guess
your results may vary.
I wouldn't sweat it, but have her pay attention to it as time goes on.
