Default P1259 problem..

I know its a VTEC issue.. but what exactly is it? rev limiter is at about 7k but it still feels like vtec is actually kicking in.. i cleared the code, it hasnt come back but the rev limiter is still there...

It happened while in a interstate, about 70mph, dropped it into 3rd at about 6500rpm, tried to take it to redline, but the car just totally cut out at 8k rpm.

"A problem in the VTEC oil pressure switch circuit or VTEC solenoid valve circuit."

Check oil level. Check oil pressure. Check wiring harnesses at the VTEC solenoid and pressure switch. The rest of the checks are more detailed and involves reading voltages.

If you're sure about all these points, then yes.

Unbelievable how someone can just clear a CEL thinking it will go away and fix the problem.
