Default people who changed map

some of you may now my prob i had so i changed my map today took it for a spin and now here is my question:

i noticed my gear changing felt so much smoother!! does this seem right? i am guessing its from the new map and my old one knackered and im hoping its not my imagination!

and another thing my car (again hoping not my imagination) sounded louder!!

normal? or me being a freak! it didnt buck or feel strange it felt smoother!! is this normal from a bad map to a good map

no map does not affect gear changing...

and car should not sound louder...unless you were unable to go full throttle with the "knackered" map sensor

well it doesnt affect the shift however the map definately has an affect on the engine, so it could be now the engine is more responsive and easier to rev-match?
