Well, I started my 2000 (48k miles) and something under the hood kind of bounced... The car knocked a noticeably for 3 seconds until I began to drive. Once I got going, it ran like normal. I expected it to act like it did when I started it at stop signs, however it did not. About 15 seconds after i began to drive the check engine light came on. 1 mile later I got home and checked under the hood. I did not see anything irregular, but I only know a little about what goes on down there. Please Please help me, I have had this car 3 months and was just about to pay it off. I saved up for 2 years, please any info you can give me would be amazing!

oil level ok? is the oil cap there?

 

It did develop a clutch buzz a month ago...

 

There will be a DTC (code) stored in the car's computer that relates to your check engine light. Go to autozone, borrow an OBDII code reader, pull your DTC('s) and post them here.

What octane gas do you run?
Is your check engine light flashing?

 

Oil cap is there, level appears fine.

 

I run on 93 and the light is perm on (not flashing)

 

Where is the pickup for that OBD-II?

 

For an 00 I think its under the passenger side dash. It has 16 pins.
