is it pointless to bleed clutch fluid...

the leak doesn't necessarily mean you need to replace it (i don't have an explanation).
but, 3 years ago i had a leak in my master cylinder, and the mechanic refused to bleed the clutch.
so i bled it myself and never had a problem since then.

Yeah it's awesome when a simple bleed will correct the problem.
I did some research on the subject, and i believe it was billman250 who said it is quite common for s2k's to have master cylinder leaks from dirty clutch fluid, and a lot of times bleeding and switching to fresh fluid will actually stop the master cylinder from leaking.
I hope this is the case for mine, as this sounds very encouraging!

i'd still swap out the clutch master cylinder...
why would i/anyone change the cylinder if the problem has been fixed and working properly without leaks for 3 years...?
