Default Possible to install retainers/keepers incorrectly?

Just a quick question: Is it possible to install retainers and keepers incorrectly or do they only go one way? If you ask, I'm having doubts my installer. I installed ap2 retainers and keepers in my ap1. Thanks.

It would take a pretty determined dumbass to install them upside down if that is what you are asking.

Nah it's pretty simple... like previous poster said... you would have to be determined to get them to fit upside down... how come you doubt your mechanic then? any odd noises coming from the engine?

Ok, gotcha. I'm just making sure. Before I get in-depth with everything, i want to see if we (place i got this done) can come to an agreement. FYI, yes the valves did make noise and i posted this in my area's forum section, and I after changing the TCT I came to the conclusion that the valves were WAY out of spec. I'll keep this updated

The retainers wont work upside down! The retainer is tapered inside for the keepers to fit in. The keepers only stay inside from force of the valve spring pushing against the retainer and locking the retainers around the valve stem. Not a hard job to do at all but people charge a good bit for it.

if you got the retainers changed you HAVE to get it readjusted. I went from AP1 to AP2, and it seemed like the AP2 retainers made the entire thing tighter (??? all the ones changed were too tight, had to loosen all of them up to get to spec)
