Default possible valve tap

so there is this very faint tapping.. im pretty sure its a valve tap... (im a mechanic) and my father which is one.. thinks the same.. a friend said it might be that or something else in their... but its hardly noticeable... unless u own a s2k and know the sounds of it.. so ya..

so imgonna rebuild head... new valves ..springs.. and retainers..
trying to save money on this...
what are good products...
im gonna do dual springs ..tit retainers... and valves... with a spoon head gasket

You're lash is probably on the loose side. Simple check but time consuming to do all 16, definitely the first thing you should check.

you sure it's not the fuel injectors?

you're a mechanic - yea, of course you should check the valve adjustment.

its not the injectors... i used a stethascope.. or how ever u spell it... to check them.. to see the noise is coming from cyl 4 mainly...i was kinda hopeing it was a valve... so i can do the head... tho thats prolly rong to say.. but it woulda gave me a reason to spend money and upgrade...

"that's prolly rong to say" = quote of the day.

Moving on... I think it's valve adjustment time....oh and make sure you turn the motor over clock-wise for gosh's sakes.
