Default power outlet ng?

My portable air compressor works fine when plugged into my Jaguar's power outlet, but won't work off the one in the S2K. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I saw a power outlet mentioned in the fuse box. Assume this is not the cigar-lighter type, right? (Yes, I know I could go out and crawl under but hey, I'm lazy.)

I run my el-cheapo air compressor off the center plug all the time. It is a switched plug (turn ignition key to on). I idle my car since I'm paranoid about my battery. I noticed the fit is tight with most of plugs, maybe you're not fully inserted (no XXX wisecracks guys!)?

Ignition was on, engine idling--wiggled it a lot, pushed it all the way in and held it; maybe I'll try giving it Viagra next.

My power plug has been loose for a while. I also use a portable compressor, but have to switch when using USB adaptor for GPS. It finally came loose after all the changes. Looks like threads at the back end and a metal sleeve the wires run through.

Any suggestions on resnugging it before I start disassembling?
