Bumping this thread as I am having the exact same problem as D-Spec. It's always way worse if the car sits a couple days and upon start-up the steering can get really jerky and is alarming and scary, especially in a parking lot!

Did the Honda EPS reset be considered the overall fix?

Great topic.

I've had this problem for awhile now especially in the cold and when I don't drive the car for a day.

After about 10 min. the problem goes away.

I am ready to replace the rack. After reading this thread, I'm not sure what I should do first but will let you all know what I do to remedy this problem.

My solution was to sell the car.
I miss the top down, but that kept ripping also, so it was not even a convertible anymore.

you can't enjoy the car if you're afraid to drive in the rain, in the cold, or put the top down.

I loved it while it lasted, and I miss it's good days every day.
Have fun, and be safe!

If you are having problems with eps take it to honda they are the only ones who can diagnose and fix it no 1 else can i repeat no 1 else can. I bet all you guys that are having problems just need to get your eps reset by honda just bite the bullet take to honda that is experienced with s2k. trust me i have been driving with no eps for almost 2 years which pisses me off because it was a easy fix

Had to laugh, your faith is touching. I took mine to the stealership and the service advisor informed me that there is a leak in the power steering system, so I can keep topping up the fluids, or they could replace the steering box for c. $2,000 plus labour. Will be investigating the connections now, thanks for the advice guys.

Also, what's up with your driving history? Two cars totalled... you might want to think about getting some training while you're lucky enough to still be alive.
