Default Power windows

(sorry if this is the wrong area - should I post in "electronics"?)

Hmmm...what do you call this thing...
Does anyone's (driver side) "window-all-the-way-down-automatically" button not work? I can push it down "two clicks" but it still just stops as soon as I lift my finger...

I can't see how it could be the motor, so I'm guessing it's the actual switch...but then wouldn't it just not work altogether?

Thanks in advance for such a trivial question...

Dave

It's a contaminted pulser in the motor, and the only permanent repair without wiring in aftermarket auto down module is to replace the window regulator assembly.

There is a TSB covering this issue for 00-02 cars. Getting it coverend under warranty would be up to AHM goodwilling the repair.

Or you could give this a try and keep your fingers crossed that it'll hold for a while:

If you can't get it warranteed and it won't reset, get an "Autoloc" device. This will fix the auto-down feature and give you auto-up as well for about 50 bucks.

What's the TSB? I ran in to a buggy auto-down on my 02 that magically went away recently.

It sucked.

Wow, thanks guys! I'll try that trick you linked to first.

Side note - is there a complete list anywhere here on TSBs or recalls? Can't seem to find one, but I'm having a hard time searching successfully here.

Thanks again!
