Although it seems Comptech's set up for the oil return line is not ideal, I have not heard of any rash of reliability issues with their set-up. I'm sure they did the research and found it works before they sold probably thousands of S/C's. They have a good track record and make only high quality stuff. I'm sure they did it that way to ease installation. The tapping of the oil pan was no big pain, you just have to take great care in the process! I'm sure if any Comptech owner felt this was an issue, it would be no big deal to set it up by tapping the pan.
