they all looked fine.

I have a MY'01 that I've owned for over 10 years. Not long after I bought it I was letting a guy drive it and he made a bad shift (3 to 2). I recently read about cracking retainers and even though I've heaped 10+ years of fun driving on the car I wanted to be sure that there wasn't a disaster lurking.

Anyhoo, it wasn't a very hard process and the reassurance was nice. I hope to be one of those guys with 300k+ one of these days!

I would replace it anyways just to be safe because you can't see the crack until you take it off. It may started to crack already but not enough to be able to see from up top.
