Puzzling metallic screech problem
Sorry guys, but I've searched everywhere on these forums and could not come across anyone's thread that has the exact problem I have. A lot were close and I don't know what to think.
My metallic screech or squeak comes from the rear, and I would like to say rear passenger side.
It just started about a week ago. I have a 2000 s2k with about 70k miles on it. Changed all fluids at 52 k miles.
The screech only occurs under these circumstances. The screech/squeak only starts after I've driven the car for a bit, about 15-20 mins. It only occurs when I come to stand-still, like at a traffic light and when I start off from a stand still.
As soon as I brake down to 0 at a light, at the last possible second before the car is completely at a stand still, it will have a very loud metallic screeching/squeaking sound.
And when I start off from 1st gear from 0 mph, it replicates the same exact screech until I'm in speed. Plus when I start off from a stand still, it's like there's more inertia for the car to move. I can notice a pronounced, 'heavyness', or something holding the car back from moving forward, which doesn't happen if the car hasn't been driven for a while.
It's very confusing and I don't know if it's a transmission problem or a brake problem...
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
