Q's on Strut Tower, Rear Brace, and X-Brace
Hi TechHeads,
Newbie on the block here in Northern California. Just purchased my 2000 S2K a couple of weeks ago. I just love it!!
I've done some searching on this site but cannot find the answers I'm looking for.
I'm wondering what I should install out of the above mentioned items. I don't mind installing all of them but it sounds like the Strut Tower Brace and the X-Brace will compound upon each other to make the front too stiff.
Will these items help with the bump steer I'm experiencing? That's my main objective by installing these items. I would really like to minimize the bump steer.
Thanks!
Ismat.

Most people would blast you for not using the "search" function but that kinda pisses me off,
Contrary to what some have said the Rear brace in my opinion is just a bling piece as is the Strut tower brace, The X-brace seems to have the most impact on positive handling and combined with the STB it seems to be worth it. The Popular thought is that the best design would be the Di Grappa brace now being sold by Ricks2k.com. The reason I say the two other pieces are Bling pieces is because I have them ( Spoon rear Brace, Whiteline STB ) and I felt no difference in handling until the x-brace was installed. I really noticed a difference on the track which I highly recommend for you being a new owner - this car handles differently than most cars and you will learn more in one day at the track then months of driving on the street and you wont endanger anyone else!

Hi nzaizar,
Thanks for the reply. I did do a search but didn't come up with anything useful. I do appreciate not being flamed.
I appreciate your feedback. I'm going to try the X-Brace for now and see what happens. As for track time, I agree 100% about its value. I ride a sport bike and take that on the track. Very nice tracks where I live (Sears Point, Laguna Seca, etc.). Tremendous educational value.
Cheers,
Ismat.
