Question RE: K&N finter

I use the K&N filter but will probably just replace it when I think it is to dirty. You have to be careful not to apply to much oil to the cotton element after cleaning, or it will get ingested and damge your O2 sensors (I have first hand experience with this on a different vehicle). It is difficult to tell how much is enough or to much, so I won't take the chance again. BTW, Road Rage recommends a similar type air filter of a different brand name that he says is much better quality and possibly better performance. I don't remember what brand though, but I think it retails for $76.

K&N now offers the oil in a spray which makes even re- oiling much easier. The squeeze bottle was not such a good idea. I also let it sit for a day or so to check for over oiling just in case.
It seems that as you increase air flow you will need to loose some degree of filtration.
If it were a perfect world, we'd all be running gigantic paper type air filters the size of our radiators. Then you might have both.
