quick question
The other day my maintenance required came on and flashed two or three times and it has been doing it as soon as I turn my car on. Is this a programmed flash that comes on after so many miles, or does the light indicate that something needs to be done to the car?
I searched the owner's manual and couldn't find anything on it, and just figured I'd ask.

Thanks for the reply--this is what I figured the light was for. My old legend used to have a place where you could stick your key to reset the light. I'll look again in the manual to see how to reset the light.
As written by the unequaled Xviper:
To reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light (As indicated by the light that says, "MAINT REQU'D"):
- Have key inserted in ignition but in the OFF or LOCKED position.
- Push and hold the trip reset button on the right bottom corner of your gauge clutster.
- Turn key to full ON position and continue holding the button till the light goes off.
-(This part has been added for those who are impatient or who have the light only at the "blinking" stage and not yet solid.) KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO BE SURE OF A POSITIVE RESET. Or maybe just be patient and wait till the light is on all the time before doing this.

Its in the owners manual.. you just need to look harder
It flashes when the ECU thinks its time for an oil change. It will come on solid after xxx miles (I forget the #.. 250 maybe?). Just reset it.

This happened to me recently also, but it only flashed once or twice while I was driving, and I haven't seen it since then...the manual doesn't say anything about when it flashes (during driving or when the car is started), or if it flashes continuously, and the OP and xviper both say it happens when the car is first started...is there any reason it would flash once or twice while I was cruising on the highway?
