Well i recently bought a used rack & pinion from a junkyard and i switched out my damaged one. But when i turn left and right It makes a rough noise as if the gears were dry or something? does anyone know if You have to put oil or lube it or something? and if so what type of oil do i use and where is it poured into. any advice or help would be awesome.

Did you not put differential fluid in or something? Obviously you have to fill the diff up...
If you drove it without oil the gears should be toast I would think.

not the differential, the rack and pinion that steers the car.

So you did they installation? Did you center the rack and install the ends just like they were on your old rack? (I.E. Number of turns the same)

If you did, it sounds like you got a bad rack.
