Radiator and coolant aftermarket
#21
Part of that was education. It is pretty much common knowledge these days not to use regular tap water in a radiator (or just use premix), where as back in the day, 90% of people just filled them half with antifreeze and half water of the garden hose, leading to tons of deposits and issues.

Coolant lubes the bearing, that's why you have a weep hole on the pump. A tiny amount of coolant weeps out of there and flows into the bearing from the outside. That's how the pump bearing is lubed.
Hmm, I was wrong, it's to prevent coolant from washing out the grease on the bearing.

Just to get away from plastic end tanks which crack and leak as they age, it does take 20+ years but when I changed rads I wanted all aluminum rather than plastic and aluminum for the occasional track use etc. OEM rads will last a long time though.

Found a document online long time ago by a waterpump manufacturer that states that you should never turn a new waterpump by hand before you install it. Lack of Lubrication by the coolant can destroy the seal when you turn it by hand.
Cant remember the manufacturer, but it was a big brand.

What is a favorite steel/aluminum Coolant reservoir tank for the S2000? I could not find any for the S2000 easily online. I purchased the one for my MX5 from ILmotorsports in Germany and Goodwin racing has them for the MX5 https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazd...t/61-2037.html. Appreciate your guidance.
