Default Rattling noise - please help....... link to video attached

Hi all,

Am hoping someone can help me sort this out - my S2K has just developed a rattling noise in the last week, soon after the 54K service, its been back to honda but they cant find/replicate the noise?!?!?

Hope its ok to post a link to the video with the noise in??

Its the 'grumbly' noise when the revs die down in this clip.

It mainly happens when accelerating at low revs, and obviously as in the video, but rarely at higher revs. Honda have stripped the underside of the car down and cant find anything wrong - which is probably a good thing, but as you can imagine its getting very annoying - especially as its intermittent.

Any advice or help is appreciated.

Thanks very much

could be exaust, could be heat shield, a vibration metal on metal, but not sounding like a problem, these cars are noisy.

thanks for having a look/listen - its more annoying than anything, a couple of people have said it doesn't sound like an issue and Honda cant find anything, just one of those things but made more annoying as it wasn't there 10 days ago!

I had a very similar noise happen to mine under the same situation... Ended up being a loose bolt that held the cat and exhaust together... Tightened it and never heard it again

110% it's your exhaust i just changed my exhaust and have the same exact rattle, as long as you press the gas pedal and don't hear rattle in your engine then your good, but if it is coming from your engine then say bye bye to the engine...

if not a loose bolt, could be a bad cat. Had the bricks of the cat broken inside.

could be a broken weld off the exhaust hangar
which causes it to rattle. It may appear to be welded on but really is not?

It sounds to me like the heat shield in the engine compartment.
