Default Rattling noise from rear....

Everytime I put my car in gear I hear a loud rattling noise coming from the rear. I brought my car to a mechanic and he said that my drive shaft is going bad. Does this make sense to anyone?
Thanks

You say "when you put your car in gear". Are you moving yet? If you aren't moving, it's really hard tell if the driveshaft is going bad. If you are just sitting there and get the rattle, you should look elsewhere.

Only when I'm moving...
So you think it's the driveshaft? I already had a mechanic tell me that it might be the driveshaft but I wanted to make sure before I bought one.
Thanks for your help

Before we get too "into" it, do you have any mods that might be pertinent to the problem at hand?
It "could" be the prop shaft, but it could also be one of the CV joints on one of the half shafts.

I only have basic mods,
Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, wheels, rotors.

Another thing is as I accelerate, the noises gets louder.

If it is what has already been discussed, this noise should also be accompanied by some pretty noticeable vibration. If there is no vibration, that would be unusual. Also check you wheel hub nut, your wheel lug nuts and your wheel balance weights to see if any are loose, since you indicate you have different wheels and tires.
