I've noticed this since I've gotten the car, but not in this sequence..

At idle I revved up the motor, and in the gearbox I heard a rattling noise.. I know from my previous s2k that the gearbox's are rather noisy but I don't recall a sound like this.

Also sometimes when I'm driving and goto downshift from like 6th to 5th or whatever gear just normally, the shifter feels sometimes as if it's stuck for a second.

2nd has the typical every now and then grind, just want to catch this shit before it gets worse. Anyone have any ideas if it's normal or not??

 

Just the usual:tranny fluid for the stuck gear shifter/grind.I noticed that even after the fluid change the shifting will be a lil notchy for the first 200 miles or so but smoothes out after that,no 2nd gear grind now.As for the rattle:don't think the tranny is spinning while in neutral might have to look else where for the rattle.Possibly heat shield or even hood latch need a lil grease,even if sounds like it is coming from the tranny.Poke arn see what u can find.Let us know what u find.

 

Will do tomorrow during daylight, appreciate the fast reply. It just sounds like a rattling noise like marbles in a can when I rev it slightly. I am almost 100 percent sure it's coming from where the shifter is.

 

U can also do a search for greaseing the shifter or the cup the end of the shifter stis in could be broken.Does it shift smooth but just makes a noise?
