Default Rear end squeak's under braking

The rear of the car squeaks under braking. When I'm really light on the brake or slam it all the way down there is no noise. However in between the two there is a high pitched squeak. I thought it was the pads so I changed those out (they didn't look worn though, probably had 35% left). Lubed the hell out of the caliper and pads. But it still makes the noise. The rotors still have plenty of life on them and the car doesn't vibrate under braking.

The car is a 2003 with 66k miles on it. Any idea what it could be? thanks guys.

Did you put the anti-squeal shims on the back of the pads?

I didn't put shims on it. The old pads had shims and before I put on new ones I lubed the hell out of the old ones with their shims and all but the noise has been consistent.

If you didn't use the anti-squeal shims from the oem pads, then it's a good bet that is the problem no matter how much grease you used.

that would make sense however the old pads had life on them, were installed with shims, and were lubricated. but still made the noise. Also the noise is exactly the same now as it was with the old pads which makes me think pads aren't the issue.

also I just noticed there is a lot more brake dust on the drivers side wheel than the passenger side.
