Default Recently bought ap1. What maintenance should I do.

So in december I bought a ap1 with 68k miles. I changed the oil and im now at 71k. Since its getting warm im planning on doing all the maintenance soon. So what would you guys recommend I do? So far im planning on changing the air filter and differential fluid. Should I change clutch and brake fluid?

If you have no history, you might as well change them all.

Brake, clutch, diff, trans, coolant.
Engine and cabin air filters.

service manual states that valves should be adjusted at 105k or if noisy.

but if you'd like to get that done, theres no harm if you do it properly.

If the coolant is blue, OEM Type 2, then you can leave it until 100k. If you do change your coolant, which I say you shouldn't. Then make sure you do it properly or you will overheat.

Change the diff fluid with something quality like Mobil One or Amsoil, you'lll need 1 quart, only use enough until it drips from the filler bolt, do not over fill.

Change the transmission fluid with Honda MTF, you'll need 2 quarts, only use enough until it drips from the filler bolt, do not over fill.

Gravity bleed your brakes with any premium DOT3 fluid.

Change the clutch fluid with a bastor. Suck out the old fluid form the reservoir with the bastor, wipe the inside with clean paper towels, refill with new DOT3 fluid.

If you do the valve adjustment spend the few minutes and inspect all your intake valve retainers. Take pics if you can and post them here. Use the flower setting on your camera.

Simply put.....Change every fluid & filter. This will establish a good baseline for future service.

If he has Type 2 coolant, then that would mean his coolant has been changed already, right? Didn't AP1s come with different coolant? If his coolant was changed at 7 years, IIRC the change interval for the AP1, then it should have been changed in '09 with Type 2 and it should be good until 2014... that's all assuming that the previous owner was good with maintenance.

As far as doing any work on any car, it should be done properly If not, you can:
Get air in the brakes then get soft brake pedal.
Have a loose spark plug and melted ignition coil.
Overly tight spark plug and strip threads.
Have the oil filter loosen up and then you get an engine fire.
Work under the car when it isn't supported properly...

Read all the instructions and make sure you understand them. I'm sure most people would rather see a post asking a simple question than one about a blown engine.

Why does a convertible have a cabin air filter? Never did understand it. Who drives around with the top up (except in the rain and snow)?
