Default Reducing the weight with aftermarket rotors.

Origonally i was gonna toss 4k into my brakes and go with the comptech kit. But, i'm thinking twice as i'm trying to front a turbo right now. How much weight can i save with just rotors, and whose will save the most weight? Thnx,

Brandon

I have the Spoon rotors, don't know the weight difference between stock and the Spoon but they are a lot lighter. I would say around or more than 5lbs per rotor.

Someone had Pinnacle "Wave" Rotors that dropped them quite a sum of weight. You can get them at RickS2k.com

you may want to read through this thread first. Reducing rotor mass is not a good thing, they will heat up quicker and may cause more braking problems in the long run.

lightening the caliper is a whole diffenent subject.

Those rotors cracked because they have holes. I know they are cast and not cross-drilled, but with holes in the rotors, it will cause problems if you go on the track with it. However, for street applications, they are fine. They reduce weight, and they may/may not reduce temperatures. Slotted rotors are better for track applications. If you don't do extremely hard braking, brake rotors that are cross-drilled should be fine.
