Remote Keyless Entry Question
Davestern, if fmah's linked instructions do not work, try pulling the "keyless" fuse for about two seconds, then replace. (Fuse is above driver's kick panel, I believe it's the top fuse in the right column--there is a fuse guide printed down there for reference, and there is a fuse puller parked in the same bank of fuses). My OEM alarm stops working every now and then and needs to be reset this way, it works every time. Be careful that you don't drop the fuse puller down the kick panel. (I have big clumsy fingers and accidentally did this!) Also, don't test the remote until you get outside the car--you won't do any damage, but your head might hit the steering wheel when the alarm goes off...)
Good luck!
LOL fmah, thanks for the additional context!
I had missed the part where you had diagnosed the problem as an alarm remote that needs programming. Since the panic mode works for davestern, I figured the alarm remote is communicating with the receiver. I suppose it is possible that "panic" mode works even with an unprogrammed remote, as some kind of safety mode. Hmmmmm.....maybe I'll try this in the middle of a parking lot full of Hondas and see what chaos breaks out, as it would make sense that panic alarms will be set off in ALL of the Hondas with stock alarms!
It's great that you confirmed that the CRV keyless entry instructions are identical to the S2000 OEM alarm instructions, even though one might guess that they could be two different transmitter/receiver systems for two different vehicles. Since the S2000 keyless remotes and S2000 alarm remotes are different (option vs. trunk button), and interact with two different receivers within the car, I thought there could be some differences in actually programming the remotes. But, you sure are right the cars DO have the same logo on the front so they are probably the same inside. And they ARE linked at HandA. Like I said it is great that you confirmed this.
Thanks again for doing your homework, I'm sure that will solve the problem. I'll be working on my reading skills.
Good luck!

lateott & famh . . Thanks for the input. I have the same programming sequence I found in the Owner's Manuel collection in the "Secret Compartment". Tried it numerous times with no luck. By the way, I do have the alarm and remotes FAMH describes.
One thing has remained constant . . .the panic button has always worked . . . and still does. Just cant get the lock, unlock, trunk and alarm to work.
Is it safe to assume that if the panic button sets off/on the alarm that the remote is programmed.
LATEOTT . . .that fuse idea seems worth a try . . I'll give it a shot.

You guys are the BOMB!! I've been trying to get my Keyless entry to work for about 6 months now. I lost my first set of keys from the dealership and I had a second set plus the valet. The second sets keyless entry didn't work from the factory but after this thread all is well. Thanks Again!!
