remove and replace pivot ball and shifter alignment part

Default remove and replace pivot ball and shifter alignment part

[attachment=87432:unnamed (1).jpg][attachment=87432:unnamed (1).jpg]Anyone know how to remove the swivel parts on shift lever? Manual says to do it but no clue how. Is there a special puller or do I need a gorilla to pull them off?...sorry for double image. thanks for any info for removing plastic parts

The ball on the end?

Just get some pliers and pry it off. New one pops on with some force.

Warm it up with a heat gun, or dunk into really hot water for a min. Softens up and pops off much easier.

If you just do the pliers thing and muscle it off, be careful not to gouge the metal ball end with the pliers...

Thanks to all. The hot water idea worked for removing will have to see if f that works for replacing them when I get the.new ones. I appreciate the suggestions.

I tried to pop the new one on with a wooden mallet. Wife is still finding pieces in the kitchen lol. Ordered another one
