Default Repairing Bumpers

I have some tdents and tears in a rear bumper. Has anyone tried to repair one before? Can you weld the tears? Is there a filler material to fill dents?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ask your local dealer. They should have a bumper guy come a couple times a week. All he does is repaint bumpers. He can fill in the dents and make it look brand new. Watch out for over spray if he does it outside.

Repairing bumpers is quite common. You can re-weld cracks/tears if you want. You can also glue a backing on the back side of a crack, "v" it out and then glue/fill the outside. Dents and creases can sometimes be heated and re-shaped back to new too.

Good scoop. Anybody know , do you need to use any special filler for plastic fenders vs. steel bodies?

And don't forget - any new paint has to have the special additive containing, I believe, urethane. If it is not so treated to flex without cracking, then it will flex, ...... with cracking.
