any idea how hard a job this is? length wise? what should i expect to pay

Pay? Well it is probably 2 hours on the books, so maybe $100 plus around $15 for two new axle nuts (they should be replaced instead of reused).

It isn't a difficult job IF:

a) You can get the existing axle nut loose
b) You have the correct sized ball joint seperator
3) You have a torque wrench that goes to 220 ft/lbs

.....ask me how I know.
