Ok guys, well my car was really difficult to shift into first gear and reverse, so i troubleshooted everything that could've been wrong. cmc,slave cylinder, bleeding clutch, pedal, lubing the shifter, and it came down to the clutch.
this is what i found broken in it.

i've never heard of a clutch disc failing like that, but i guess i haven't been in the game for long enough...

anyone seens this happen before, and why would you think it happened? i just bought the car recently and the guy didn't know much about it, but it had an act pressure plate with an oem disc in it.

the car now shifts like butter!

I've seen plenty of broken discs like that. It's not uncommon.

 

I agree, I've seen quite a few as well.

Agressive clutch operation, IOW treat it like an on/off switch.

well the guy lowered the price 1k just for the clutch, and i probably have $125 into it, so i don't think i did to bad.
