Just installed the Comptech,, sounds good the power seems to be the same .

We will put it on the dyno next door to my shop next week and see if we lost any power. At this point it does not feel like I did but ??

Over the next few months I will try a few things such as intake and header and see if we can make some more power.

I was going to do the single exhaust conversion but decided to just replace the mufflers with MagnaFlow mirror finished
part number 14822's.
Just the sound I was looking for!!!

I removed the catalytic and replaced it with a speed straight pipe and kept the factor exhuast with a comptech intake. I put it to the test against 3 other s2000. The first s2000 had a cat back with huge mufflers. We took off roling from 3rd gear at 6000rpm. I started pulling smoothly and by the time we were in 4th gear about to shift to 5th I had pulled 2 car lengths. I would of keep pulling on him so we left off. 2nd s2000 full exhuast pulled on him the same. 3rd s2000 was stock and I pulled on him but the car responded better than the s2000 with the huge exhuast. It is increadible how much a good intake and reducing the restriction from the exhuast makes s2000 wake up noticibly. Sometimes if you go to big on the exhuast you tend to restric the car even more. I think a nice light single exhust with a straight pipe would be the best choice.

Is this a whiny sound? Or a deeper sound?
At idle, not much louder but MUCH DEEPER at Vtec it's just kinda like all hell breaks loose.
At the airport right behind where I work there is this corporate Lear that takes off on a runway that is almost long enough so he hasta really kick it......that's the vtec sound. Get the picture?

I printed up the page from the SoCal guys' dual "Spugen" project and had a chat with a local muffler shop. He wouldn't do for it for the same price but it wasn't bad.

Here's a link to the thread with the sound clip. I'll update it later with an in-car clip as well...
