You can keep the stock exhaust and remove the cat with a straight pipe. The flow will be less restricted.

And reducing this supposed exhaust flow restriction will get you what? Are you sure there is a restriction in the first place?

I replaced the clutch at the same time as the S/C install.I figure the car was more fun when I did it together.I wish I had the 4:77 gears installed at the same time.If your going Vortech your oil pan comes off anyway.It'll be a big change for you.Have fun.Do it yur own way...

Harry are you older/most experience owner with SC?

how is your engine? do you have any sign of stress? do you track the car.
