Default Resetting the ECU.

Hi i Was just wondering if anyone can explain how you reset your ECU and the effect of doing that... I would like to do this because my VTEC doesnt feel as strong after running low oil for a little while... so i got an oil change and i still dont feel as strong of a kick.. can anyone explain how to reset the ecu?

Another way to reset the ECU is to take the battery leads off and hold them together for about 30 seconds. Then put them back on. It may be a little easier than contorting yourself to get into the fuse box...

Isn't that just disconnecting the negative cable from the battery for around 30 seconds?

The only thing about this is that just taking the fuse out will not lose your memory for the radio presets, etc. If you disconnect the battery and cross the leads (this is the way that King Motorsports does it), then you will lose the memory presets...

Just be aware that anytime you disconnect the battery you will lose the presets...however, just taking the aforementioned fuse out will not.

Stupid question... If you reset the ECU wouldn't that reset the elctronic odometer?
