I just recently started hearing this ticking from my lower end. Here's a video.

It's an 04 with about 94k. Ran 2.5 qts low about a year ago when the filter came loose. Other than that, always full oil, changed at 3k or 3 months.

 

When you changed your oil did you see any particles in oil, you can also cut your filter too see if there is anything in there, Also check Vtec solenoid,
motor sounds bad,

 

I didn't see any particles. Just changed it a week ago. Almost seems like ive been hearing it since then. Oil is full and I'm using the same 5w30 full synthetic valvoline oil I've always used. The filter is gone so I can't cut it open, but I suppose I can change it again and cut the new one open.

 

Did the oil light come on when you ran that low? If the light came on, your bearings are toast....

 

Nope, never seen an oil light.

Can anyone confirm exactly what this noise is.
