Thanks Guys...

So, I believe 260 psi in my cylinders is a healthy compression.

Does anyone know exactly what is the compression when the engine is new?

Thanks

Stock spec on an F20C is 225 psi (in the book at least). Your engine sounds VERY healthy at 260 +/- per cylinder.

Actually I took .008" off the head (because I screwed up the radiator plumbing and overheated the thing) and added a set of 14.5:1 pistons and my compression is only 258 psi or so. Maybe I don't really have 14.5's? Sure is a big dome though with huge valve reliefs.

Later,

Jim

Don't know what VP is, but I'm guessing it's hi test gasoline. Yes, I use I think 110 octane out of the local race gas pump at one of the local stations.

And don't forget, this is a race only application where I basically put my foot into it, let the rev limiter keep the engine together when I shift, and then pull the chute after 96 seconds at full throttle. Also I only run at 3000 and 4200 foot elevations so that lowers the numbers a bit.

BTW does anyone know how to make my avatat look properly proportioned?

Thanks,

Jim
