S2000 OEM differential failures
I have blown a bunch up using the following
Cheap coastal synthetic 75w90 - stock diff with stock motor.
mobil 1 75w140 - another stock diff with stock motor
amsoil 75w140 4.77 rear end with 230hp 2.2 liter motor
amsoil 75w90 stock diff with 230hp motor
I quit using stock diffs.

May be off topic of how it failed...as mine has not. Mobil 1 75W-90 since her virgin oil change at 5K. Many years ago Honda was very open with an author;Dan Carney. His book on the car is a collectors item now costing a bunch. Honda missed their target market with the "S" which were males over the age of 50 with 6 figure incomes. Unfortunately the B16 crowd upgraded and the problems started (I.e. "glass rear end" from 9 K clutch dumps). The book is a great historical read on the history of the car and why the car was "updated-LOL). If you use a proper Grade lubricant and don't drop you are fine. If you drop, lubrication won't save you......Normally aspirated or otherwise. You need to build the diff...Puddydadcomes to mind.

Me too. I don't dump. Seems like all the really good drivers (not me) are very, very smooth and the speed of shifting and clutch dumping is not the reason they go through the track faster.
