Default S2k and metal core cat

Did some searching but didn't find what I was looking for, maybe I didn't search good enough.

Anyway, I noticed my cat has a metal core that looks like the Berk HFC and many other newer high performance metal core cats.

Do all US S2Ks come with metal core cats (oem) or were some ceramic?

I read info on the engine when it first came out and the metal core cat was chosen to reduce backpressure by 42% compaired to a ceramic cat. It just shows the effort Honda spent to ensure a high power rating.

Yeah, it sounds like Honda did a good job. I'm sure that is why some people complain about bolt on mods not doing much for the S2k. It comes from the factory much closer to it's limits then most other cars.

It looks like the MY09 is out now, I think that makes the S2K 10 years old. Sure, they have made changes but it's still the same car...
