Default S2K Shifter Question

I want to shorten the stick. I have already shortened it but the shift knob that I have is now hitting the wider part of the stick and I want it about another 3/4 to 1 inch lower. I was originally trying to grind down the sides of the stick to a thinner stick but it was taking to long. I want to know if it is hollow inside. Please help someone.

I have already shafted my shift shaft. Right now mine sits as low as a voodoo but I want a little lower. Has anyone done this?

Since the shaft is designed to dampen vibration it is not a single diameter. Cutting it and rethreading it would probably not be easy or worth the effort. Most find a counter sunk knob like the Voodoo is a great solution.
