Default Saner bar and comptech Xbrace

All righty all you out there,

The Saner bar is friggin awsome. The car handles sooo much better. ( what I mean by that is the rear end dosen't want to come around as much...although that was fun as well).

anyway... I have it in the 2nd hole..seems like a good base line.

and for all of you out there looking at getting the bar you DON'T have to take it to a shop to get it modded to use the mcmaster carr endlinks.

it's very easy to do. get a grinder from harbor freight for $17.00 (im not exaggerating) buy a couple of disks ( i went through 2) and buy a caliper... you have to take approx. half of the width off the end from the inside of the bar. I'll give my exact measurements tonight.

i also tried to not grind the bar at all and get endlinks with out a rod and press in a longer shouldered bolt... (the mcmaster carr also FK and grainger endlink rods don't have the length) this would work fine but the cost wound up being more than the grinder option..The other option is to get thicker end links. The thicker ones are longer length. the only problem here is you have to drill out the holes in the bar and drill out the holes on your car....uggh

the other thing i would reccomend is getting a piece of sheet rubber and putting it between the bushing and the retainer..

and threadlocker!!!! blue baby blue...

If anyone has any questions about the saner and the install feel free to p.m. me.
By the by here is a thread about the parts you will need:

and here is a write up on the install of the stock bar

I also threw on the comptech x brace and that was a suprise. It actually works. after hearing mixed reviews I would have to say that over bumps, potholes etc...the front end of the car is solid and stable where is used to be twitchy and darty. When I took the brace out of the box I looked at the cute little thing and thought.....wow....i just got hosed....i payed money for this little toy? great...... But after putting it on it really does make a noticable difference...

that is all

allrighty,

So went out to the speedventures deal this weekend and let aaron (dont know about the spelling of his name), hes one of the instructors there, Drive my car with me as passenger. (he also used to race s2000's) After 3 or 4 laps we came back into the pits....i wiped the turd off my jeans and the fear from my bowels....and then he told me that my car was the best handling stock suspended s2000 he has ever driven. Said it handled like the 2nd gen car the drifting was really predictable and smooth no snap...very controlable. So it was good to hear. My car has about 70,000 miles on it with stock suspension.

the 2 mods are the X-brace and the modified saner on the 2nd hole.

thanks
