Scraping from serpentine belt
After 2 hour drive in 90+ temps last night there was a cyclical scraping sound coming from the area of the serpentine belt at idle, car is 03 @ 23,000. Anything more in revs and it gets drowned out. It reminds me of the faint scrape you get between rotor and pad on a raised hand-spun wheel, just a whisper of intermittent metal to metal brushing . At idle it cycles at about 4 times per second, so about half of engine speed. AC clutch, belt tensioner? I know it is a PITA trying to diagnose these things but I am hoping it rings a bell with someone the same way the TCT description does. If not I can post audio and hope the quality does not suck. Thanks in advance.

it could be any one of the pullies or accessories that they drive (alternator, water pump etc.), including the belt tensioner itself, I'd try to isolate the noise to a certain area of the engine to deterimine which pulley/accessory is causing the noise.
