Default SERIOUS clutch problem!?! Please help!

I posted earlier about Honda's unwillingness to pay for the TSB054 in full. They had agreed to cover my labor and clutch, but wanted me to pay for the pressure plate and bearings. SO.. I took my car to them and left it. I was OK with paying around 200$ for the TSB054 which I think they should have completely covered. NOW they call me back and say "WHOa dude, your clutch is fried, man, your clutch is TOAST, it's just TOAST, it'll take $1100 to fix this" After some argument he explained that the clutch screws had dug into the flywheel and caused additional damage. He says that HONDA will not cover ANY of this and he wants $1100 immediately. I told him to put it back together and I'll get aftermarket and fix it myself. WHAT SHOULD I DO???? WHAT "CAN" I DO??? I miss my baby really bad, and I don't want any more stress out of this. PLEASE HELP!!!

I think in that situation I would have told them I would supply a new flywheel (you can get aftermarket for ~450) and pay extra for that install.. or you could have asked to resurface the damaged flywheel. You had a pretty good deal going since they were already going to cover the rest.

They don't warrant normal wear and tear. Clutches are meant to wear out and be replaced.

It is the same philosophy as not covering windshield wiper blades, except for the $.

The only reason I ask is because when i took mine in to get all the TSB's done, they replaced the whole clutch for free. They also replaced the tranny and diff.
