How often do you change pulleys and/or pulley bearings. I've found in other cars, worn pulleys can shorten the life of belts.

Thanks!

I changed the bearings on the idler and tensioner with some VXB ceramic hybrid bearings. I'm positive I'll never have a problem with those bearings ever again. These are ABEC-6 bearings and are good for up to 150,000 rpm.

Exclamation Where do you get those bearings?

Those bearings sound great, and usually much cheaper than replacing the whole pulley!

Where did you get them, and part numbers, please!

My opinion on the gates belt that I just bought: Waaaaaaayyyyy too tight!!! It was almost impossible to install, and the tensioner is fully stretched to the limit! I'm going with a Honda part.

FWIW... I replaced the OEM one (on 2007 model) with a Continental Elite Model #4060578 serpentine belt. Lines right up on the wear marker.

Just did the belt replacement on my 14 yr old S2k with 29K on the clock. The belt had some fraying on the edges and glazing on the smooth surface and the wear marker was out of range by several mm. Did not see any cracks on the ribs. Replaced my OEM belt with a Gates Micro V belt. It was not a difficult job at all and did not have to remove the intake. Now, trying to get a cold belt over the tensioner pulley was a pain in the ass. At least now the wear marker is back to where it belongs.
