Default Serpentine belt installed - Indicator line still the same as before

2005 Honda S2000 115K miles

So I installed a new Bando 6PK1470 serpinentine belt today, install was pretty simple. Uninstalled the airbox, push down the tenionsor bolt, uninstall and install new belt. The problem is after the install the belt indicator line is the same as before. Did I use the wrong belt?

Pictures I found online but sililar to what mines look like.

Before install

What it should look like after install

Maybe the belt tensioner is worn?

Could there be a possibility of the belt being install the wrong way? I have the belt with the letters facing towards the front bumper, so you can read it if I was standing in front of the bumper.

It is fine. That indicator actually shows stretch. If the new belt was manufactured 1mm longer than the OEM belt when it was new, it would show on that indicator. If the tensioner is still putting enough pressure on the belt, the length doesn't really matter. Vehicles were made for years with no "wear indicators". It was good to replace it for preventative maintanence, but don't over think it.

Yes that little bit does not matter.

Only the oem belt will put it to the new line, but even that wont last long.

This is good to know.

What condition was your belt prior to removal? How many miles did it have on it?
