Default Shift linkage question

So I got around to removing my center console to clean it cause I'm bored in the middle of the night and once I removed it I noticed the shift linkage appears to be bent.... It sort of looks like it's bent to the left a bit and to be honest I have no idea why or if it is normal or not (I know nothing really about the s2000 transmission setup and probably know little to nothing about manual other than how to drive em). Here are some pics to show you guys what I mean.

If it's any help I am currently using the rick's voodoo shift knob and I've noticed the gear shifts are not as smooth as my brother's AP1. So is this normal? or am I just retarded?

Don't worry it the way they made it. Every shift linkage is bent like that to center the shift point.
Did you replace the transmission fluid to MTF2? It made a big different in smooth shifting. Before I notice notches and I can feel the engagement of the gear, now it silky smooth.

Yea I did a diff and tranny fluid change myself a few weeks ago and it was a little bit of an improvement but not too much. My main concern was whether the shift linkage was supposed to be bent like that or not so I kinda freaked out last night. Thanks a lot though!

it's the shifter(not linkage)! it's suppose to be offset to the driver.

did you lube the lower end of the shifter with grease?
if you haven't then go do it now, make sure you check for cracks in the end cap also

Well I'm not too sure about that one.... I bought my car about a year ago and I haven't done really anything to the transmission other than fluid changes. Could you please elaborate on what it is you're talking about? or point me to a DIY?

Instructions for installing the Axial Flow shifter show the R&R procedure. Note the photo below step #9, you can see the plastic cup on the end of the shifter. That part should we intact, unbroken and well greased.

Regarding the smoothness of shifts compared to your brother's AP1, does he have the OEM shift knob? The Voodoo, while shortening the throw, does have less leverage than OEM (or other tall shift knobs) and is lighter. It will be more notchy if you're not precise with your technique. That's been my experience anyway after experimenting with about a dozen different knobs and two different shifters.

Here is the removal, you would have to use "Super high temp urea grease" according to Honda manual

Yea he does have the OEM shift knob and some other s2000 owners tell me that it's prob the voodoo knob not having enough leverage. But I will go ahead and pull the shifter out and check for lack of grease on it anyways. Thanks so much for all of your help.
