Hi Guys,

I did a quick pull this morning and I heard a loud noise from the rear, then it started to grind extremly loud. I think it sounds like broken axle but I'm not sure. All week I heard some kind of noise, but I wasn't sure what it was or where it was coming from due to my loud exhaust and turbo.

What are some of the signs and symptoms for broken axle or diff??

 

I tried to diagnose the problem by driving it and it rolls then makes a pop/clunk noise. what you guys think??

 

sounds like diff to me.

 

i'd say axel..

busted diff will sound like all hell broke lose reminds me of how it sounds when you watch people's over rev video's on youtube and hear the clinking sound of the engine's internals letting go..

 

Nope. It can break a tooth and get really loud. I ran my wounded diff for a week until it exploded.
